Hi everyone!
We’re excited to share some news about our development progress.
- All civilizations, Wonders, Military, Inventions and other cards and boards are finished development. We’re thrilled to reach this milestone and can’t wait for you to see everything!
- The rulebook has gone through its first round of professional proofreading. Our editor is currently making amendments based on the feedback from the proofreader, and we will back and forth with the proofreader to polish it. Also, the glossary booklet will soon start its proofreading journey as well.
- The German translation is making great strides! All the cards and boards are complete, and the translator is working on the rulebook and glossary.
- In addition to the iconography changes and redesigning the public area mentioned in the previous updates, we’ve added even more components for the updated civilization abilities and war declarations system. This will make Epochs even richer! Stay tuned for more details in our upcoming updates.
According to the timeline on our campaign page, we are set to submit all production files in October without a doubt! Our progress is going smoothly, and everything is going as expected! :)

New Icon Design in Epochs!

Hi backers!
As we reach the end of August, we’re excited to share that everything is progressing smoothly.
- To help players better understand the abilities of each card and civilization, our editor has added a "Glossary" booklet. This will clarify any uncertainties you might have during the game. The booklet will soon undergo professional proofreading and translation, and we can’t wait to share the digital version with you all!
- We’ve been continuously reviewing the game, and we’ve made some updates and added new icons to enhance the gameplay experience. Now, let’s take a look at some of the changes.
1. Basic Resources icon (Food, Science, Productivity, Gold)
We simplified the basic resource icons so that each icon now features a single object. Since the icons will be quite small on the cards, this simplification makes them easier to recognize and helps avoid any ambiguity between the resource icons.
2. Action icon: Production Command
Since the new productivity icon is a hammer, we changed the production command icon to avoid confusion.
3. City and Trading post
As mentioned previously, we upgraded the design of the city and trading post tokens, which necessitated a change in the corresponding icons to match the new wooden tokens. Additionally, we made the differences between the neutral city icon and the general city icon more distinct for easier recognition.
4. Luxuries and Minor Luxuries
The original gold icons for luxuries and resource were easily mixed up, which was not ideal. Therefore, we sought other valuable resources that have historically been used in trade, and we finally chose diamond and spice.
5. Adjacent to the sea
The sea is a special terrain that cannot be occupied, so we changed the icon to differentiate the 'near sea' icon from other terrain icons.
We believe these changes can bring an intuitive gameplay experience. Hope you like them! :)

IMPORTANT: Pledge Manager is Launched! - Deadline to complete the survey is 2/8/2024

Hi everyone!
We have started running a smoke test on the pledge manager which is for collecting shipping addresses, the language options, and ordering extra copies and add-ons. The notification email has been sent out to 5% of our backers first, and if everything goes smoothly, we will then send it out to everyone a few days later.
You can fill in the fulfillment survey in the pledge manager by the 2nd of August 2024.
The fulfillment survey takes only 5-10 minutes to complete and it's super easy! Let us guide you step-by-step on how to fill out the survey.
1) You will receive an email titled “Response Needed — Get your reward for Epochs: Course of Cultures - A 4X Civ. Game Spans the Ages”. Please use the link “Click Here to Respond” in the email to access your personal account in the pledge manager. And please monitor your SPAM/Promotions folder in case the email does not appear in your main inbox.
2) Choose your country so that the system could calculate the shipping fee. (You are going to fill in your detailed shipping address in the later step.)
3) Click “Got it, thanks!” and “Next>”.
4) Choose the language edition.
5) Now, you can add extra copies of the game and/or other add-ons. You can see that your rewards, pledged amount, shipping fee, and any tax required are shown on the right-hand side. When you add item(s), the balance will be automatically calculated.
(Note: The shipping cost is the same as we show on the campaign page!)
6) Then, you can fill in your detailed shipping address.
*Please be reminded that a few cases are out of delivery such as APO/FPO. You may refer to the reminder under the shipping table on the campaign page.
7) Finally, confirm your information and settle the payment.

FAQ
How many can I pledge?
You can add at most 5 extra copies of the game in the pledge manager (max 6 copies in total including the original pledge) and add up to 6 of each add-on.
Where is my email?
If you do not find your email, you may search your inbox for "Epochs" and check around the spam folder. If you use Gmail, sometimes your invite will go to your "Promotions" tab. Or you can retrieve your survey through this link.
What if I need to change my address?
You can always change your address by the 2nd of August 2024. Just simply log back in to pledge manager and make the appropriate change. However, if you change the destination country, additional shipping costs may apply.
If you need to update your shipping information after the 2nd of August, you may need to send us your request via KS message. We will try to help you and contact the fulfillment center but we cannot guarantee anything. We highly suggest you may ask your neighbor to help collect the package. We hope you could understand.
I have paid the extra amount (or) I haven’t selected a reward during the campaign, could I make use of the extra money to order things?
Your extra paid amount is already transferred to the pledge manager, and you may use it to pay for the game, add-ons, and shipping fee.
If I pledged 10 HKD on Kickstarter, can I upgrade my pledge level in the pledge manager?
You cannot upgrade your pledge level but you can add the game and all add-ons in the pledge manager. The difference is that you could not enjoy the pledge level discount. If you would like to have the add-on(s), You must add at least 1 copy of the base game.
When will the payment be charged?
If you are using PayPal, the payment will be charged at once. If you pay by credit card, we will charge after the pledge manager closes. If you want us to charge before that, you may send a message to us. We will handle your payment separately.
When will the games be delivered?
The estimated delivery is June 2025.
